Fortune 500 Security Panel
The room
A full-day exchange in New York for security and technology leaders from Fortune 500 companies. These are the people who answer for their companies’ AI risk, and the day kept returning to one question: how do you know AI is paying off? One attendee put it plainly: “How many of the agents that are created actually lasted?”
What we did
We had a 45-minute slot in the day. We covered which model to use and how hard to make it think, how AI usage is billed, and four ways to bring the bill down. When the room asked how to judge whether a team uses AI well, we answered on the spot, starting with a warning: tie a team to one number and people change how they work to hit it. They spend more, or they move to personal accounts.
What they took away
A yardstick for their own teams, in three levels. Do people use AI daily? Have they automated part of their own work? Are they building tools and helping others?
What happened next
1:1s with people from the room followed. The material also went back to one firm’s AI committee, and the firm returned asking for a session for its own team.
